Lovely Taygete - Star of the Pleiades Talismans - Ring 6# size 7 3/4

This ring is hand-carved from wax, cast in tarnish-resistant sterling silver, and set with a rutilated quartz washed in a freshwater spring atop the Taygetus mountains. In ancient Greece, freshwater springs and fountains were considered sacred dwelling places of Naiad nymphs, believed to possess healing and poetic properties. Taygete, whose name means "of the Taygetus mountain," called this mountain her home before finding her place among the stars.

Rutilated quartz is a variety of quartz containing needle-like inclusions of rutile, which create the appearance of golden threads, reminiscent of the golden thread of Ariadne.

Beneath the quartz I have placed dirt collected from the Taygetus mountains and crushed fennel seeds that I grew and harvested, encapsulated in resin in accordance with Agrippa's guidance:

These talismans were created during the elected time of 12:50 PM on Thursday, January 9, 2025. At this time, the Moon, in her exaltation sign of Taurus, was applying to a conjunction with Taygete within 2 degrees. Venus, ruling the ascendant from her exaltation in Pisces in the house of the good daimon, while she was co-present with Saturn at this time, she was outside of orb and being intersected by Jupiter, with whom she was applying to a square aspect. On this day, the Moon, near her extreme northern declination, passed directly over the Pleiades and occulted them.

This ring is a size 7 3/4 and measures .6 inches at its widest point. As it is a wide band, it may feel smaller on the finger. I recommend sizing up by 1/4 to 1/2 size to ensure a comfortable fit.
