FAQ
Ring Sizing
How is Tides of Tethys jewellery made?
Each piece begins as a hand-carved wax model and is then transformed into metal through traditional lost wax casting or sand casting. Gemstones are set individually by hand, and each piece is finished with care.
Because of the handmade process and natural gemstone variation, your piece may differ slightly in form and hue from the product images.
Are your products sustainable?
Sustainability is at the heart of my practice, which is centred in the ancient traditions of goldsmithing and talismanic craft. I create one-of-a-kind and limited-edition jewels and talismans by hand, using recycled precious metals and slow, traditional techniques. Each piece is made as an heirloom: an enduring object created to accompany its bearer through life, and be passed on to future generations.
How long does shipping usually take?
We currently ship from Portland Oregon. I only use couriers UPS and DHL is an option (for overseas shipping)
You can choose any delivery speed. I always try to ship by the Wednesday following your order. Sometimes it takes a little longer depending on how busy I am.
Please reach us at info@tidesoftethys.com after completion of your order if you need any clarification on shipping.
What is your returns policy?
Returns are not accepted for customer error or change of mind.
I offer a six-month warranty covering damage that is not the result of customer misuse or accidental damage. If your jewelry becomes damaged during this period through no fault of your own, please contact me at info@tidesoftethys.com so we can arrange a repair.
How do I take care of my jewellery?
Sterling silver and gold naturally develop a patina over time, appearing as darkened areas. This can be removed with a treated polishing cloth, or you can follow these simple cleaning instructions.
Do:
Clean gently with a polishing cloth or mild methods.
Store jewellery separately to avoid scratches.
Avoid:
Harsh chemicals (bleach, chlorine, cleaning products).
Swimming or bathing with jewellery.
Exposing opals and pearls to water or chemicals, as they are especially delicate.
Please note: oxidised or patina finishes should not be cleaned, as this will remove the intentional surface treatment and reveal the bright silver underneath.
